Charge: (1) “assess the document “A Framework to Foster Diversity at Penn State” paying particular attention to how the Faculty Senate can assist with [named] Framework challenges;” and (ii) “contribute to the President’s ‘Student Career and Economic Development’ Imperative in coordination with the Provost and the Office of the President. The policy-coordination committee will undertake its work within the context of an assessment exercise in which the university’s diversity programs (problem here of course of self identification; some programs may be diversity positive but not categorized as such) are inventoried, assessed, and programs systematized to the extent appropriate.

Charge: (i) “continue to undertake a review of issues related to cultural awareness, curricular and out of class climate changes which could enhance the environment for all students across the university;” and (ii) “explore creation of a framework for advancing diversity and inclusion that goes beyond the current Framework to Foster Diversity.” This sub-committee will undertake its work with the objective of producing a set of recommendations, from immediate and specific to long term and structural, that each might contribute to our diversity goals (including the diversity statement when adopted, the university strategic plan and President Barron’s vision as appropriate). These would constitute a basket of ideas from which the university might draw or further refine.
